Venezia!

Today we drove to a large parking garage, where we will leave our car for 2 days, then rode a boat (water taxi essentially) into the city of Venice. We rested a bit since we had a terribly late night last night - the opera ended at 12:45ish and then we walked to our b&b and got to bed around 1:30. It is very hot here in Venice, so we rested and did some hand washing of clothes, then went out for a walk and dinner. On our walk, we stopped to hear some musicians in the street play some lovely music. We came back to the hotel for a bit, and at sunset, Scott, Adam, and Madi plan to go back out for Adam's picture taking pleasure! It is really beautiful here with the canals everywhere. It's pretty busy and crowded but at least we don't have to watch out for cars!! We will see some of the sights tomorrow - churches, famous buildings, and whatever else we decide. It will be nice to be in the same place for 2 nights this time. The rest of the week we have been moving every day - it's exhausting! We are on the 4th floor of a cute b&b, with 2 adjoining rooms, so the kids can have their own room for 2 nights. It's very nice, with a balcony off our room with all kinds of plants and flowers. ~Angela
