Today we plan to visit Dachau. We wish we could attend a church service this morning, but being in Germany, we wouldn't know where or if we could find an English speaking service. We know it will not be a fun day, probably very emotional, but we want the kids to see with their own eyes to get a better grasp on a very significant part of our world history. When we visited Anne Frank's house, the kids were able to better understand the impact and now visiting one of Hitler's concentration camps built, hopefully they will understand even more. It is important to us that they remember in a tangible way so they will always be willing to stand up for what is right and any injustice they see in their lifetiimes.
We were able to sleep a little more this morning, which was great. It is very exhausting moving every day to a new "home", unpacking, then repacking early in the morning to go to the next place. It will be about a 2 hour drive today to Dachau, then we will have a relaxing evening hopefully, and do some laundry - we are all out of clean clothes! The last week has been a whirlwind, I can hardly remember what we have done from day to day. We are headed to Italy in a couple of days - yay! We have eaten well - some meals at hotels, some at restaurants, and some from local grocery stores. Yesterday, we didn't really know what we were eating because we couldn't read the menu - all part of the experience! One thing that has been disappointing is that we have not been able to chat with people more - just each other. People here just look at you but don't really talk to you - I don't know if it is the culture or because they can tell we are Americans so they avoid us :) I did wish going into this trip to make a few new friends, but that doesn't seem like it will happen.
Anyways, that is enough from me -Scott always says people want to read short blogs, and he is probably right - so off for now. We are headed to breakfast - which is an interesting experience in itself - I'll blog about that later. We miss you all and pray things are going well back home!

Short, shmort...who needs short when there's so much to tell? I'm a fan of lots of words. Keep it coming Ang! Write down as much as you can because the details will all be a blur later.
