Neuschwanstein and Austria

Yesterday we left Munich and drove to Neuschwanstein Castle where we spent most of the day. We took a bus to the castle, went on a tour of the inside. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures of the interior of the castle, but it was something you can only image - so amazing! King Ludwig's bed alone took 14 wood carvers 4 years full time just to carve the top of it. We left there and headed for Innsbruck, Austria. We got stuck in a huge traffic jam so it took us longer to get there than expected. We saw many other castles along the way up on hilltops - some looked like they were starting to tumble down. We stopped in Innsbruck for dinner, then took a short drive to a small charming village of Patsch where we stayed the night. We walked through the most beautiful graveyard I have ever seen, looked inside the church, and the kids pretended to be Julie Andrews spinning around in a field. We left this morning and arrived in Verona, Italy. We are staying in the city center and are headed off shortly to walk to Juliette's Wall and then later tonight to the Opera (Aida) at the Arena Di Verona (build in 30 AD). I am so excited!!!!! Here are a few pictures of the Castle and our time in Austria. ~Angela
